| Theodore Gewertz was a senior Litigation and Restructuring and Finance Partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and is now Of Counsel. He has extensive experience in bankruptcy-related litigation as well as in other business, commercial and corporate litigation.
Since 1987 he has been a Contributing Author to Collier on Bankruptcy, 15th Edition, and is the author of that treatise's chapters on Part VII of the Bankruptcy Rules, which deal with adversary proceedings and procedure therein. He has lectured and participated in panels and educational programs relating to bankruptcy topics and was a member of the Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York from 1978 through 1981 and 1988 through 1994. He also served as a member of the National Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association from 1967 to 2000.
Mr. Gewertz graduated from the College of the City of New York in 1958, B.A., cum laude, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He obtained his LL.B. cum laude, in 1961 from New York University School of Law, where he was a John Norton Pomeroy Scholar, a member of the Order of the Coif and Associate Editor of the New York University Law Review. |
