David M. Murphy is a partner in the Litigation Department. He has represented financial institutions, consumer products, pharmaceutical and other industrial firms and prominent individuals in federal and state courts. He focuses on white-collar criminal and enforcement matters, and has extensive experience with internal investigations, whistleblower allegations, special committee investigations and legislative inquiries.
Mr. Murphy received a B.A. from Yale University in 1986, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1989. At the Law School, Mr. Murphy won the Hinton Moot Court competition and received the Thomas J. Mulroy Award for outstanding oral advocacy and the Joseph H. Beale Award for legal writing. From 1990 to 1991, he was a law clerk to Judge Ralph K. Winter, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. From 1989 to 1990, he was a law clerk to Chief Judge Charles L. Brieant of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and of the Federal Bar Council. |
